Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.
Ezekiel 16:49-50
According to Ezekiel, God destroyed Sodom because they were rich assholes who didn’t help the poor. If anything the fact that most gay people in America tend to be on the political left, they are part of those attempting to divert America away from being like Sodom. Those guilty of the sin of Sodom are those who do not care about poor. Like, for example, people who want the police to destroy homeless encampments rather than providing the homeless with adequate shelter.
I will say that San Francisco is a modern Sodom, but for reasons entirely unrelated to the fact that there are gay people who live there.
