Democrat demands taxpayer-funded ‘transgender’ drugs for illegal immigrants

(LifeSiteNews) — The Trump administration must act fast to ensure gender-confused illegal immigrants have access to their “transgender” drugs while in detention, according to Democrat Al Green of Texas.
“Dear Secretary Mullin, I write to express my deep concern over reports of hazardous conditions for transgender immigrants in Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facilities, resulting from deliberate agency policies,” Green said last week during a press conference.
He was reading from a letter he wrote to Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin.
Green began his remarks by saying he was harassed by police because of his race.
“In recent months, the federal government has halted the provision of specialized medical care for transgender detainees in at least 10 detention centers across the nation, which experts have warned can cause physical and mental health complications,” the left-wing representative claimed.
The Democrat warned of a “dark time” in history and said the “humanity of our society seems to be depreciating.”
He also said we need to give each other “respect and dignity.” The representative’s words may seem ironic after Green infamously shouted during Trump’s State of the Union Address in 2025 and had to be removed by police.
Rep. Green continued on to portray gender-confused individuals as the “least among us,” stating:
We have to protect every person in this society. And today we’re here to stand for the righteous protection of transgender persons who are migrants, who are persons who have literally committed no crime other than they are in this country. And that seems to be a crime to some people. We’re standing with them because those who would tolerate this level of injustice allow the perpetuation of this level of injustice. We have to stand with the trans community. This is where I stand …
Other advocates for injecting individuals with transgender hormones joined Green during his press conference. The representative then returned to the podium to plead with the media: “Do not suppress what is happening to the trans community.”
The decision to advocate for gender-confused illegal migrants may surprise some after one of the most devastating political ads of 2024 was based on this very issue.

One ad included a clip of Kamala Harris telling an LGBT activist she supported gender-based surgeries along with a second clip of popular black commentator Charlamagne Tha God stating, “Kamala supports taxpayer-funded sex changes for prisoners.”
The ad includes Harris telling a gender-confused male how, as attorney general of California, she supported the policy.
“Hell, no, I don’t want my taxpayer dollars going to that,” Charlamagne says, with a second commentator backing his comments.
It is not possible for someone to change their gender. A significant body of evidence attests to the long-term consequences of transgender drugs and surgeries, including infertility, heart issues, and cancer.
A 2025 report from the Department of Health and Human Services also confirmed the dangers of such chemical and surgical procedures for gender-confused individuals.
