Texas airport installs Islamic foot-washing stations inside restrooms

(LifeSiteNews) — Add Dallas Fort-Worth (DFW) International Airport to the growing list of major U.S. airports with Islamic foot-washing stations in men’s and women’s washrooms.
“Wudu ablution” stations are being provided in order to allow Muslims to ritually prepare to engage in prayer.
Similar stations already exist at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport and Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).
The privately-funded DFW project will cost $300,000 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The installation of the foot-washing stations has been explained as a measure to prevent water from accumulating on restroom floors and sink counters — currently a hazard at major international gateways.
“People washing their feet in standard bathroom sinks creates soaked, slippery floors and breaks the counters. Low-level wudu basins keep the restrooms dry and safe for everyone,” explained conservative activist Ryan Fournier. It’s “just about keeping the bathrooms clean and preventing people from slipping on wet tiles. Plain and simple.”
Other conservatives expressed a completely different point of view.
“This isn’t accommodation, it’s conquest. And it’s only the beginning,” wrote U.S. House Rep. Keith Self (R-Texas) on X.
“The Sharia takeover happening right before our eyes must be stopped!” he declared.
